Thanks shipo.
I just looked up the results for yesterday and my placing.
My results are:
I came in 1975th. It looks like the last person listed was 6992 in the 5km running category, so that puts me 28% of the way down the rankings for 5 km. That means I was in the top third of all men and women who did the 5 km run !? Seriously !?
The actual distance, according to my heart rate monitor, was 5.4 km.
My time was: 49 mins 55 sec
Pace: 9:59. It looks like that means per km and that they are calling the race "5 km".
Category: Female 40-49 (I am 49)
Cat. Place: 252 / 765 (top 33%) Really !? I came in in the top one third for my age category !!?? Wow !!!
Gender Place: 1241 / 4598 (top 27%) So I came in almost in the top quarter for women ! Again, holy cow !!
I'm sure a lot of people were probably just doing this race to be in it, not necessarily to finish fast. For most of the race, I was not trying to go all that fast either. I knew it was a longish distance for me as a new jogger, so I just wanted to make sure I'd have enough in the tank to keep jogging throughout ! I thought I was pretty slow, although I did pick up my pace in the last km or so when the finish line was reachable.
Cool.
